ONE TEAM! NO LIMITS!
Athletes Without Limits Rowing is a program dedicated to unlocking potential through unity and inclusion in rowing. AWLRowing takes a three-pronged approach enriching the lives of athletes and the sport itself:
AWL IDD ROWING: The first is by providing a safe space for athletes with intellectual or developmental disabilities to be themselves, grow, and improve their overall well-being both mentally and physically.
AWL YOUTH ROWING: The second is by making the sport accessible to athletes in socio-economic circumstances that would otherwise prevent them from participating, and showing them that there are no limits to what they can achieve.
AWL VETERAN LEADERS: The third part of AWL Rowing’s approach is to provide military Veterans with disabilities with the resources, equipment, and guidance they need to find success, strength, and camaraderie in the rowing community.
Our flagship AWL DC-MD-VA Rowing Program is based out of the Anacostia Community Boathouse in Washington DC year round with programming that is based on two seasons (WINTER/FALL NOV-APR and SPRING/SUMMER MAY-OCT).
Note: There may be opportunities to affiliate with AWL Rowing from other regions (including North Carolina and Nebraska) so we invite all to reach out.
Interested athletes with intellectual impairment, disabled Veterans or youth rowers and others can use our contact form to reach out!
