Throughout 2020 and 2021 seasons AWL DC Rowing programs will be closely following COVID-19 safety guidelines implemented by the Anacostia Community Boathouse (ACBA) and DC Strokes developed in consultation with ACBA members, guidance from USRowing, the DC Harbor Patrol, and the orders from Mayor Bowser and other DC officials.

Athletes Without Limits integrated DC Rowing Programs winter training is underway with COVID safety protocols offering a combination of virtual and in-person winter erg and fitness training for athletes with intellectual impairment, Veteran Leaders and more…. plus Zoom social activities and “Sunday Fundays” through our partnership with Adaptation Athletics.

With categories for para, juniors, collegiate, open, masters and more, there is a race for everyone… including para rowers and future para rowers who seek a race for tough competition, prizes and fun! Virtus has announced that the sixth edition of the Global Games will be held in Vichy, France from June 4-10, 2023. The Global Games is world’s largest elite sports event for athletes with an intellectual impairment. Athletes from Europe, America, Asia, Africa, and Oceania will perform across ten main sports including indoor and on-water rowing. Information about eligibility and qualification for Athletes Without Limits US Team will be posted on the AWL National website.
